Wonderful Cancun dining is Mexico's gift to the world, and Mexicans take cooking very seriously. Cancun restaurants include various gourmet cuisines, such as French, Italian, American, Argentinean, and Japanese, among others.
You can find just about any dish you want here in the atmosphere you prefer. Many of Cancun's restaurants have live music and a decor that, when combined with their cuisine and excellent service, make for a memorable dining experience.
Dress is casual in CancĂșn, but many restaurants do not allow bare feet, short shorts, or bathing suits. Even at the fanciest places, suggested attire is "resort elegant," meaning long pants, collared shirts, and closed shoes for gentlemen. For women, a dress or skirt and blouse with chichi sandals or heels will suffice.
It only takes an afternoon stroll along Boulevard Kukulkan to whet your appetite. You will be seduced by the architecture and settings: breathtaking sunsets on the lagoon's piers, candlelit Mayan gardens, avant-garde verandas in teak and frosted glass, and elegant and fresh interiors with thematic decor. All that, accompanied by a genuine smile from the people who serve you, will make it impossible to resist treating yourself.
And dining in Cancun really is a treat. There is so much variety among the elegant dining rooms, with cuisines ranging from Italian, Japanese and, of course, authentic Mexican. In a rush? Don't worry. There are fast-food restaurants here, too.
