COZUMEL

The largest island in the Mexican Caribbean is approximately 10 miles wide by 30 miles long. San Miguel de Cozumel is its only town and is located on the west side of the island. It is where most of its hotels are located.

ISLA CONTOY

The beautiful island of Contoy is located where the Caribbean Sea the Gulf of Mexico, about 30km south of Isla Mujeres. Isla Contoy has no inhabitants apart from the wildlife, and is only 8.5Km in length and has a surface area of 230 hectares. Only a few tour companies have permission to bring guests to the island and only 200 visitors are allowed each day as so as to cause minimal disturbance to the wildlife, so when you visit you can enjoy true tranquility and nature at its finest.

Isla Contoy is considered the most important nesting place of sea birds in all of the Mexican Caribbean. Protected by the Mexican government since 1961, and declared a National Park in February 1998. Contoy is a paradise with secluded sandy white beaches and lush palm trees, and boasts more than a hundred and fifty migrating and resident bird species. It is also a nesting place for sea turtles.

ISLA MUJERES

The island was so named by Spanish conquerors because of the many clay figurines of females discovered when they came ashore here centuries ago. Isla Mujeres is located off the coast of Cancun, separated from the mainland by a small 7-mile strait, and even though it is incredibly close to this busy city, life on the island remains peaceful and slow-paced.

To visit Isla Mujeres, is to visit the most idyllic spot in the Caribbean, favored not only for the wonderful weather and stunning views, but also for the hospitable atmosphere experienced from the moment the ferry (takes just 20 minutes from Puerto Juarez in Cancun) comes into dock. Once there, you can choose to either walk around, or alternatively rent a golf cart or bicycle and explore all the attractions this five mile long island has to offer. As soon as you get off the boat and walk down the main street, you'll experience the warmth of the locals who will greet you kindly with a smile.

PLAYA DEL CARMEN
